Jesus did not come start a new religion,
nor to discard what He had promised in the Hebrew Scriptures TO and THROUGH
the Jewish people. Our Lord demonstrated a WAY OF LIFE in which Jew and
Gentile alike would be RECONCILED to His Father and FILLED with the Holy
Spirit! Then, out of that LOVE relationship of obedient trust, they could
live to GLORIFY THE FATHER.
Jesus makes sure His goal is clear and unmistakable when He proclaims to the
Jerusalem crowd at the Feast of Tabernacles the PATH to the TRUE GOSPEL:
"'Whoever TRUSTS IN ME as the Scripture has said, streams of LIVING
WATER will flow from within him.' By this He meant the SPIRIT, Whom those
who TRUSTED in Him were later to receive.” (John 7:38,39)
You're getting the idea now: the HEBRAIC RESTORATION is bringing back the love-grounded obedient TRUST of the first HEBREW, ABRAHAM — a trust and love through which the Holy Spirit TRANSFORMS LIVES to our Father's glory!
